Path: Admin > CAD Import
Space Management in WebTMA uses the CAD Import window to import AutoCAD changes to the WebTMA database.
If you use AutoCAD drawings in your organization, you can import changes made to your drawings and update the related WebTMA records.
The Admin > CAD Import window displays any imported files that have been sent to WebTMA from your CAD files. The Areas Section lines show any Areas where changes have been made.
Use the Download CAD File link on the Action Menu to download the associated CAD drawing and review the marked areas to be sure you agree with the changes on the drawing.
Until you select the Import Areas Action Menu link, no changes are made to the WebTMA records, and the transaction Status is Pending.
CAD Import Requirements
In order to use CAD Import, the following must be true:
- Your organization is a licensed AutoCAD user
- You have installed the WebTMA-CAD plug-in
- You have a WebTMA license for the Space Management module

CAD Import
The WebTMA-CAD plug-in is used to link your AutoCAD floor plans to WebTMA.
When updates are made to your AutoCAD floor plans, the data can be imported to the plug-in for review.
After comparing Areas, you can export data. When complete, the changes display in the CAD Import window in WebTMA. The Status field shows Pending, which indicates the WebTMA Area records have not been updated.
Following are changes that can made:
- Added. For rooms that exist in the AutoCAD floor plan but do NOT exist in WebTMA, new room records can be added.*
- Modified. For rooms match, but the SQF in the AutoCAD floor plan does not match, existing room records can be changed.
- Deleted. For rooms that exist in WebTMA but do NOT exist in AutoCAD, the WebTMA record can be inactivated.
* NOTE: Administrators must set a default Area Type in Admin > Client Info / Preferences to allow creation of new Areas during a CAD Import.
CAD Action Menu Links
A Download CAD File link in the Action Menu, allows you to see a floor plan view of the changes before they are made.
If the changes are acceptable, you can select the Import Areas link in the Action Menu to commit all of these changes.
If you do not want to make the changes, you can choose the Reject Import link in the Action Menu to delete the pending transaction. No changes are made to WebTMA Area records in the database.
