The Capital Expenditure Approval Request (CEAR) module is used to track purchases that have a specific budget. Once you create the CEAR records, mark any purchase orders for that CEAR number on the Other Info Subtab of the Purchase Order / Identity Tab.
CEAR is included as an Approval Routing option so that each CEAR purchase must be approved before issuing the purchase order.
A CEAR Detail Report in Report Manager lists the CEAR numbers as well as amounts and award date.
WebTMA alerts you if a purchase order amount exceeds the available CEAR amount balance and does not allow you to save the record.
CEAR Identity Tab
Path: Material > Purchase > CEAR / Identity Tab
Most fields on the CEAR / Identity Tab are required. The Used Amount field is read-only and reflects the amount expended.
To add a new record:
- Click Add on the WebTMA toolbar.
- Complete the required fields.
- Click Save on the WebTMA toolbar.
After the CEAR record is saved, you can create Purchase Orders and apply them to the CEAR number.
CEAR Purchase Orders Tab

As purchase orders are created, look to the Pending and Approved Subtabs on this window to review general information about the purchases applied to a given CEAR number.
