WebTMA v5.x System Requirements

For On-Premise Deployments

 

This document describes the software and hardware requirements for hosting and using WebTMA. You should meet or exceed these requirements before running WebTMA at your organization. This document does not cover redundancy and availability. These requirements are for the WebTMA application only. Requirements for the operating system are additional.

Server(s)

 

WebTMA is designed for scalability and can run on a single server or multiple servers. Spreading the application and database across multiple servers can lead to better performance. If using a single-server setup, the server should meet or exceed the sum of the requirements below.

 

APPLICATION SERVER

Operating System

Microsoft Windows Server OS: Standard, Enterprise or Datacenter Editions for versions 2012/2012R2, 2016, 2019; 64-bit

Additional Software

Microsoft IIS 7.0, 8.0, 8.5, 10.0 version 1607 or 10.0 version 1709

Microsoft .NET Framework versions 4.8 or greater

Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) 1

Processor

Intel server class Xeon processor or equivalent, recent generations

Memory

4 GB RAM minimum (4-8 GB recommended)

Network Interface

Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) or better

Storage

10 GB free space

1 Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) communication is required between your application and database server. By default, a wide range of ports are required for MSDTC to operate. Consult with your network administrator or Microsoft to establish proper MSDTC support.

 

 

DATABASE SERVER

See Microsoft’s requirements for the version of Microsoft SQL Server you will be utilizing.

Authentication

WebTMA requires SQL Server authentication.

Additional Software

Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) 3

 

1 If you utilize an SQL Server Cluster to house the WebTMA database, MSDTC takes special setup to work with a cluster. Please contact your DBA, cluster server administrator, or Microsoft for support on getting this set up.

 

2 Storage requirements vary greatly based upon usage. All linked files, such as .txt, .pdf, and graphics, are stored in the database. Make sure you have sufficient hard drive space for your database to accommodate all data and files.

 

3 Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) communication is required between your application and database server. By default, a wide range of ports are required for MSDTC to operate. Consult with your network administrator or Microsoft to establish proper MSDTC support.

 

Note: Microsoft SQL Server Instance and the WebTMA Database Collation must match for supported operation of WebTMA.

 

WebTMA does not require a separate reporting server, but in some cases, it may be beneficial to use a separate reporting server to improve performance.

WebTMA iServiceDesk

Intel Core 2 Duo and greater or equivalent

Memory

1 GB

100 MB Free Hard Drive Space

Network

Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) or better

Software

Microsoft .NET Framework v4.8 or higher

 

Note: iServiceDesk may run on the application or database server for low volume web traffic. iServiceDesk server may be shared with other server applications, depending upon usage volume of each application and available resources.

 

Note: iServiceDesk is a web host service and may conflict with IIS. Port adjustments will need to be made if operating on servers with other web hosts.

 

 

 

WebTMA v5.x End-User System Requirements

For On-Premise Deployments

 

This document describes the software requirements required for access to WebTMA and related products. You should meet or exceed these requirements.

Browser (WebTMA End-Users)

 

The following requirements represent the needs for WebTMA, WebTMA Requesters and WebTMA iServiceDesk users. Browser support varies for each version of the Application and its related products. Most major browsers are supported.

 

Some features have additional browser requirements, which are noted in the appropriate documentation.

  • Important: Due to significant performance and security issues, TMA Systems recommends that

customers utilize a modern browser for its products and migrate away from Internet

Explorer 11.

Browser Requirements – Feature Specific

 

Note: Some features within WebTMA have special requirements. The specific features are CAFM and Network Login (Single-Sign-On). For Network Login, Microsoft Internet Explorer is fully supported (Firefox and Chrome may require additional configuration.)

 

Firefox and Chrome have limited support for CAFM using a third-party ClickOnce add-on (not supported by TMA Systems or Microsoft).

Requires Admin rights to run the application and Admin Service Account to keep the service running.

 

Additional Software (WebTMA End-Users)

medTester

The WebTMA medTester interface requires the Module 10 software for the medTester 5000C unit. Be sure to check the manufacturer’s web site for information about loading the Module 10 software on your medTester unit.

CAFM

WebTMA CAFM supports up to AutoCAD 2016/Microstation v8 file formats.
