Those who use WebTMA mobile can elect to receive Notifications of newly assigned Tasks on their device. The Notifications, called Push Notifications by WebTMA, show up as banners, sounds, and badges.
When work is assigned from the web application, the alerts display on the device as long as the user is logged in to WebTMA mobile. The person can be using other applications on the device, or the device can be powered on but not active; however, when users log out of the application, Notifications are suspended until they log in again.
Note: Self-assigned Tasks do not trigger a Notification.
First Registration
When the release with this feature is installed, Technicians receive a popup notice asking permission to send Notifications.
- Tap Allow.
- Log in to the applications.
Once you have taken these two steps, Notifications are automatically registered. You are not prompted again at login.
Unregister or Re-register
If at any time, a Technician wants to stop receiving Notifications, or if they tapped Don't Allow and want to start receiving Notifications, this is done from the OS Settings for their device.
Notifications
Notification banners typically display at the top of the screen. Following are examples of banners.
The first example shows two banners unstacked. The next is a stacked version of the same two banners. These were displayed on a screen that is not the WebTMA application.
The example above is a banner that displays when WebTMA mobile is open.
Regardless of the location, you can tap a banner for a single Task and open the record immediately.
If multi-Tasks are indicated, tap the banner to view the Open Tasks filter in the Work Order Task screen.
Notification Frequency
To avoid flooding the Technician with Notifications, such as batch processes, Notifications are not scheduled to go out immediately. They are sent out on a regular basis with a delay of about ten minutes.
Shared Devices
The Notifications apply to the logged-in user. In cases where several users share the same device, they assure that the Notifications are for the appropriate user by logging out and logging in when the device changes hands.
