The QP Labor window in WebTMA GO can be opened from either the menu or the Work Order / Task Tab to record time spent on a Work Order; however, most check boxes are only visible if the window is opened directly from the menu. Moreover, if the labor line has been saved to the server, the Finish Task and Close Task check boxes are hidden on this window as well. Finishing or closing Tasks is best done from the Work Order / Task Tab in WebTMA GO.
If you use WebTMA Plus, your WebTMA System Administrator has the option to make settings that allow available Time Types to be filtered by Work Groups when you add Labor.
QP Labor Details
Multi-task Work Orders are not removed from the list when some Tasks remain to be authorized.
If the Task is not authorized or is pending authorization, it does not show up in the Task selection list.
When you enter the Work Order number, the Time Type field is populated by default from the Repair Center record. The Trade field displays the Trade assigned to the Task; however, if the Task does not have a designated Trade, WebTMA GO uses the preferred Trade from the Technician’s record.
If you use the Timer, QP Labor opens automatically when you turn off the Timer from the Work Order / Task Tab.
If the Technician record in the main application includes an Account #, the field is automatically populated in WebTMA GO when you open the QP Labor window unless your WebTMA System Administrator has disabled the Account # field, which forces the server application to populate the field when the record is uploaded to the main application.
You have the option to add both Tech Comments and Labor Comments. The Tech Comments are shared with users. The Labor Comments are justification for the work, such as overtime.
Be sure to tap the Save button on the QP Labor window to record your hours.
Indirect Labor in Quick Post
When you click New on the QP Labor Listing window, the following fields are shown as required: Work Order #, Task, Trade, Time Type, and Hours. However, Indirect labor is not related to Work Orders. Simply select the required Time Type first, and the Work Order # and Task fields are no longer required. Then the record can be saved.
Add any needed remarks to the Labor Comments field when you have Indirect labor because the Tech Comments field is also disabled for Indirect labor.
QP Labor Window Opened from Work Order
When QP Labor is opened from the Work Order / Task window, the Close Schedule, Close Task, and Finish Task check boxes are not available. This allows WebTMA GO to control the work flow and allow the Task to close correctly when any combination of Preferences are selected. This also insures correct tracking and status on the Work Order once the transaction is completed.
NOTE: The three check boxes are available when you open QP Labor from the Main Menu (Quick Post > QP Labor).
Enter Hours for Several Technicians at One Time
Look for a plus sign at the upper right. Depending on the circumstances, it might be available when QP Labor is opened from the Work Order / Task window. The feature can save time when you need to apply the same labor information to several Technicians, such as a supervisor entering time for a Crew or a worker with permission to add time for co-workers.
The plus sign is visible only in the following circumstances:
-
The QP Labor window is opened from the Work Order / Tasks window by tapping the Labor button.
-
The logged in user is allowed to add labor without being required to use the Timer feature.
If these constraints are met, the plus sign is visible.
When you complete the window and tap the plus sign , the following actions take place:
-
The Hours and any other entries are saved.
-
The Technician field is cleared and ready for you to select another Technician.
-
All other entries remain on the window.
You can make changes to other fields from one Technician to the next, but the latest changes are the ones duplicated when you tap the plus sign once more.
When you have tapped the plus sign and have no more Technicians to enter, you can tap Cancel to return to the Work Order.
If your organization uses the optional General Inspections module, the same functionality is available when you tap Stop Timer on the General Inspections window. This immediately opens the QP Labor window with the plus sign at the upper right of the window.
