Path: Organization > Utility > Utility Meter / Identity Tab
The Utility Meter window provides easier analysis of Meter data by accumulating the information in an accessible location. All Utility Meters in a Facility can be tracked through the Utility Meter window.
Utility Meter Identity Tab
The Active check box on the Utility Meter / Identity Tab indicates whether this meter record is actively in use. Clear the check box if the record is Inactive. The following outlines the minimum required fields.
In Add mode:
- Enter a Code up to ten characters.
- Type a Description of the meter.
- Select the Type such as Standard Meter and the Service Type.
- Complete as many elective fields as needed.
- Select Save on the TMA toolbar.
The Building radio button is the default Bill By selection. Select Department if you want to bill by individual departments.
Readings Tab
A read-only list of all meter readings taken.
Serviced Locations Tab
Use this Tab to designate the locations served by the Meter such as Facility, Building, and Area. You can allocate the percent used by each location.
Virtual Meter Tab
Virtual Meters are subset of a physical Meter. If a Building has one physical Meter and charges occupants for their share of usage, you can set up Virtual Meters to determine how much each occupant owes. The percentages can be based on square footage of occupancy or some other criteria.
Virtual Meters cannot be transferred. They cannot be part of a parent-child relationship. Essentially, a Virtual Meter is a formula applied to a physical Meter so a Department can be billed.
Utility Ticket Tab
The read-only Utility Ticket Tab reflects any bills you have added to the Utility Ticket window (Organization > Utility > Utility Ticket) that are affiliated with the selected Meter.
