You have two options for copying an existing report to make it the basis of your new report:
- Report Manager window Copy Report button
- Report Writer window Action Menu Copy System Report link
The difference between the two is that, when you use the New Browse Selection link on the Report Manager grid, the Query flyout also includes any custom reports that have been added as My Reports. If you choose the Copy System Report link on the Report Writer Action Menu, it does not include custom My Reports.
Select a report on the Report Manager window and choose the Copy Report button, and WebTMA automatically opens the Report Writer / Identity Tab ready for your input
In View mode on the Report Writer window, you can use the Copy System Report link to select from the list of all system reports. Notice the filter icons at the top of each column to facilitate a search.
If you have created a report and want to experiment with a different Layout, you can clone the report using the Copy button on the WebTMA toolbar. Give your duplicate a new name and change the Layout settings to test the new look. This avoids having to re-create your settings each time you change the Report Format from List to Table or vice versa.
How to Copy Reports from Report Writer
- Go to Reports > Report Writer.
- Choose the Copy System Report report link on the Action Menu.
- Filter and select an existing report from the Copy System Report flyout.
- Select Save on the flyout.
- Give the report a new name.
- Make changes to the contents using the Report Writer Tabs and Sections needed.
- Select Save on the WebTMA toolbar.
How to Copy Reports from Report Manager
- Go to Reports > Report Manager.
- Highlight a report you want to copy.
- Choose the Copy Report button. The existing report opens in the Report Writer window.
- Give the report a new name.
- Make changes to the contents using the Report Writer Tabs and Sections needed.
- Select Save on the WebTMA toolbar.
