Trade - WebTMA 5

Path: Organization > Repair Center > Trade / Identity Tab

Trades are used to group technicians who share the same skills and perform the same type of work. Each technician must be associated with a Trade. This can be done from the individual technician record or from the Trade record.

Information on Trade window Tabs applies to the entire Trade. The WO Query field on the Identity Tab applies if your organization uses the optional Technician Login module. The field names a query created from the Work Order / Browse Tab that applies to the WO Queue for a Technician Login.

You can limit the Trade to selected Repair Centers if needed. The Repair Center Tab is used to assign a Trade to one or more Repair Centers. At least one Repair Center assignment is required.

The read-only Work Orders and Costs Tabs on this window reflect work assigned and accumulated costs related to the Shop. Use the standard UDF Tab if you require special user-defined fields. As a rule, the UDF fields are defined in related Lookups windows; however, Trades do not have a type and the UDF labels for both Trades and Technicians are established from the Trades / UDF Tab. The method to add these labels is described in Help > Help Page > Common Functions.

How to Add Trades

Path: Organization > Repair Centers > Trade / Identity Tab

  1. Open the Trade
  2. Click Add on the WebTMA toolbar.
  3. Type the Trade Code/Name of the Trade.
  4. Add any elective information.
  5. Click the Repair Center
  6. Assign at least one Repair Center to the Trade.
  7. Click Save on the WebTMA toolbar.

When the screen refreshes, the new Trade is displayed on the Trade / Identity Tab.

How to Add Repair Centers to a Trade

Path: Organization > Repair Center > Trade / Repair Centers Tab

  1. Select the desired Trade.
  2. Click the Repair Centers
  3. Click Edit on the WebTMA Toolbar.
  4. Click the Add Repair Center link at the top of the grid.
  5. Mark the check boxes of the desired Repair Centers on the Add Repair Center popup window.
  6. Click the Save button on the popup window.
  7. Click Save on the WebTMA toolbar.

How to Add Technicians to a Trade

Path: Organization > Repair Centers > Trade / Technician Tab

The Technician Tab can be used to assign a number of technicians to a given Trade rather than opening the individual technicians' records.

  1. Select the desired Trade
  2. Click the Technician
  3. Click Edit on the WebTMA toolbar.
  4. Click the Add Technician link at the top of the grid. This opens the Technician Entry popup window.
  5. Click the check boxes of all technicians you want to add.
  6. Click Save on the Technician Entry popup window.
  7. Click Save on the WebTMA toolbar.

When the screen refreshes, the added technicians display on the Technician Tab.
