The WebTMA-Revit Integration Add-In is compatible with Autodesk Revit 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Install BIM Add-In for Revit
Six files are required to install the Add-In for Revit:
- WebTMARevit.addin
- WebTMARevit.dll
- WebTMARevit.dll.config
- AdWindows.dll
- Newtonsoft.Json.dll
- RevitAPI.dll
- RevitAPIUI.dll
Place the set of files for the installed version of Revit together in the corresponding Revit Add-Ins folder.
For Revit 2014, this is located by default in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2014
For Revit 2015, it is found in in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2015.
WebTMA Interface in Revit
When Revit is opened after the files are in place, a WebTMA Interface button displays on the Add-Ins ribbon in Revit:
If an error beginning with “Revit cannot run the external application” is displayed when starting Revit, the Add-In may be blocked by Windows security rules.
To resolve this, locate the WebTMARevit.dll file in the Add-Ins folder, open the Properties dialog from the context menu, and click the Unblock button if it is present near the bottom of the General Tab. This requires administrator privileges on the system.
Configure BIM Add-In for Revit
Before the interface can be used, the connection to WebTMA must be configured. This is done by clicking the WebTMA Interface Add-In button and selecting Connection… from the drop-down menu. This opens the Connection Settings dialog.
Enter the base URL for the WebTMA application in the Web Service field.
The Login ID, Password, and Client fields are WebTMA login credentials for an account with the BIM Integration Access Privilege granted and sufficient data access to view the relevant Building records, Equipment records, and BIM templates.
If the Save check box is marked, the password is stored, otherwise, the password must be entered each time Revit is opened.
Click the Test button to verify that the URL and credentials are accurate and working.
Functions of BIM Add-In for Revit
Once the connection is configured, the interface can be accessed through the Exchange Data… option on the Revit menu. This opens the following dialog:
When the dialog opens, the lists of Buildings and Templates are populated from the WebTMA web services.
The Building field drop-down provides a list of all Buildings visible to the current WebTMA user. To populate a new Building from Revit, the Building record must first be created in WebTMA.
The Template field drop-down provides a list of templates that determine how Revit categories and parameters are mapped to WebTMA item types and fields. The templates are configured in the WebTMA Admin > BIM Template Setup window.
