Equipment Types define the categories of Equipment used by your organization.

Equipment examples: HVAC, boilers, construction

If you set the Risk Level on each Equipment Type, Equipment records will default to the Risk Level defined on the Equipment Type record. However, the default Risk Level can be edited during the creation of each Equipment record.

You have the option to select your own Risk Formula rather than the standard Default formula. See Risk Factor Formulas for information about how to create a formula.

Equipment Types Details

Risk Levels are also beneficial when generating Planned Maintenance schedules because you can select a specific level for generation. This feature is helpful when not all PM procedures can be completed. Select the Risk Factor on the Batch Job Entry window to ensure completion of PMs for critical pieces of Equipment.

The PM Required check box is for information only. When you create an Equipment record that is linked to an Equipment Type marked as PM Required, it serves as a reminder to set up PMs for that Equipment record. However, WebTMA does not perform the check, it is up to the client to do that.

The Usage Rates Section includes a simple Flat Rate charge for the Equipment Type when Equipment of that Type is designated on a Work Order. Enter fees here that are available when entering Other Charges on the Work Order.

The Cost Tab displays the total costs of all items for this Lookup Type.

Rates Tab

If you use the additional Events, Facilities Scheduler, or Fleet Management modules, a Rates Tab is available to enter values.

Settings on this Tab do not transfer automatically to a new Equipment record. Note that the Rentable check box must be marked on both the Equipment Types Rate Tab as well as the individual Equipment Rate Tab to be eligible for rent.

If the Rentable check box is clear on the Type record, no Equipment of that Type is eligible for rental, regardless of data added to the individual Equipment Rates Tab.
