You can set up many different rules to Auto-Schedule Work Orders. Rules can be made for different days of the week as well as time of day. Rules are applied as soon as you save a Work Order to the database. Rules do not consider the 'requested date' or other Work Order criteria.
A related option is Auto-assign Trade to All Work Orders.
Details About Auto-Scheduled Work Orders
WebTMA does not check Auto-Schedule rules for 'overlapping' matches. If more than one rule matches, all rules are applied.
The Task window has a Zone Related check box that applies exclusively to the Auto Attendant. Rules for Zone- and non-Zone-related Tasks are different as explained in the following paragraphs.
When the selected Task Code is not marked as Zone Related and a rule is matched, the Work Order is Auto-Scheduled as follows (one or both of the following options must be specified for each rule):
- Trade(s) assigned to the rule are applied to the Work Order
- Technician(s) assigned to the rule are applied to the Work Order
If a rule includes one or more Technicians, the Work Order is scheduled automatically and made available to Technicians via print, email, or mobile—depending on other settings.
When Auto-Print is checked on the Auto-Schedule Rule window, the Work Order is printed. If the Repair Center / Email Settings Tab is configured for the Technician or the Trade, the Work Order is emailed to the scheduled Technicians or Trades.
When no email address is available for a Trade, the Work Order is emailed to the Shop if a Shop email address is available.
When a non-Zone-related rule includes Trades but not Technicians, the Work Order can be processed using the WebTMA Scheduler or handled using your usual methods.
Zone-related Tasks qualify for Auto-Scheduling, but WebTMA does not assign a Trade. It only assigns Technicians to the Work Order. Behind-the-scenes, WebTMA compares the WO Task and Trade to the list of Zone Technicians to identify a Technician with the qualifying Trade.
