The Service Request Form page has many opportunities to create and view your Service Request window.
View Mode Buttons
The two buttons above the Block Palette are used to switch from Design mode to View mode.
The default view is the Design mode. With this buttons selected, you see the lines, columns, and Block Palette to design your Service Request.
Click the View mode button to see several more buttons and a Themes selection field.
Click the buttons to the left to see tablet and phone views.
If desired, use the field to select other Themes and compare.
Select the Design mode button to return to the working page and make changes as needed.
Edit Blocks
Move your cursor into the element on the page to see buttons and symbols that you can use to edit, hide, delete, size, or link the block.
Use the double-arrow icon to click-and-drag a block to re-size it.
Edit Block Settings. Click this button to make changes to individual blocks including making a block a Required field, i.e., that the user must complete. The Edit Block Settings popup that opens is different depending on the type of block. The following is an example of the Edit Block Settings popup for the Action Requested block:
Hide. You can add blocks, edit with default information, and hide the block from the user, if needed, to save space.
Delete. Use this button to remove an unwanted block.
Link Blocks
Blocks can be linked to ensure that related information is included. In the example below, the Facility block is linked to the Building block, which ensures a Facility is added before you select the Building.
Move your cursor over the link button to click-and-drag to the next block.
You can edit a default block, hide it, and link it to the next block to restrict selections.
When you link Location blocks, watch for the Warning and Information
icons. Move your cursor over the warning
icon to see a list of the connections expected by this block as illustrated below.
The information icon provides details about the block such as the Building information illustrated below.
NOTE: Once you have linked blocks, you have the option to move separate pieces to other areas of your design Form.
Special Block Features
Some of the blocks in the Block Palette are unusual in your ability to use or change them.
FILE UPLOAD
Your users can upload a number or files when they create the request. Simply add the File Upload block to your design.
The File Upload block in the Links and Attachment section in the SRP Block Palette can be edited to change or remove the text on the button. By default, the button shows Choose files. The Label for that section of the block palette is Attached Files.
Select the Edit icon in the block to open the Edit Block Settings popup.
Here you can change the text tor NO-FILES PLACEHOLDER and SELECT FILES BUTTON TEXT.
If desired, you can also remove all text on the button. The remaining indicator is the upload graphic .
UDF FIELD
The UDF Field in the Request Details section of the Block Palette can accommodate UDF fields that are set up for the Request Log window. To make them available here, the UDF fields must be configured from Admin > System Form Attributes for RequestLog.
These fields can be used to capture data needed to process a request or for the type of Form in use, such as event seating, an alternate contact, or an Account Index that is not tied to account numbers.
